How the deal score worksA score of 0–100 answers one question: how good is this price for what it is? Most of it comes from comparing the price against the same metal, form and size — a 1/10 oz gold coin is judged against other 1/10 oz gold coins, never against 1 oz ones, since fractional always carries a higher premium. Beating your own class is what earns the score.
The rest comes from how close the price is to melt, so nothing gets called great just for being the cheapest of an expensive bunch. Both together mean a 1/10 oz gold at +4% (its class usually runs +10%) and junk silver below spot can each be great, while an ordinary item sits near 50. A 30-day low or a big gap to the next-cheapest seller nudge it slightly — never enough to jump a genuinely better price.
